Meet Our Farmers
A lot of the time, the farmers themselves jump in their utes with their muddy boots and deliver fresh fruit and veg still wet with morning dew. Every day. Seriously. Who are these early-rising superheroes? We work with a huge range of fantastic suppliers who share our ethos about food and each of them are carefully chosen to supply fruit, veg, meat and dairy. Meet just a small selection of the farmers we trust to give us all that wholesome good stuff.
If you’re interested in supplying us with your produce, please contact our Buying Team.
Ok, here comes an important science bit. If you read it to the end, we'll reward you with a joke.
The term ‘certified organic’ means produce that meets the strict criteria of the certifying body. Food that's farmed under organic certification means that stringent monitoring takes place to ensure that all organic farming principals are upheld.
‘Chemical free’ is a label used by farmers who don’t use synthetic herbicides, insecticides or fungicides, but have chosen not to undertake the certification process. We visit these farms and have close relationships with our farmers, so we know that sustainable methods of farming are being practiced.
We try to balance certified organic and chemical free with locality to keep costs down as much as possible for you.
Phew, well done. As promised: Why did the chicken cross the road? It's free-range, it can do whatever the hell it likes. Hmmm…maybe we should stick to our day jobs.
